Study Book Circle

This friendly inclusive group meets on the first Friday of each month in a member’s house.

All are welcome and may join in at any time. We take the line that all views are welcome and there are no right answers. Faith is a journey and we are all at different points and may even be taking different routes.

The book that we are currently reading is:

Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus

How the Jewishness of Jesus can Transform Your Faith

By Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg

This book presents the context of Jesus living as a Jew among Jews in 1st Century Palestine. Jewish customs and practices at this time and how rabbis debated and taught are explained. This leads to an expansion of our immediate understanding of  what those words meant to Jesus’ listeners and refreshes for us what can feel so familiar.

You are welcome to join in at any stage and do not need to belong to our church to take part.  We take the view that positive discussion helps our faith journey and that there are no right answers.
